Synthesiser suits satcom terminals

A new X-band synthesiser meets the rigid requirements of satcom environments.Endwave Defense Systems has announced the release of a new X-band synthesiser that meets the rigid requirements of satcom environments. This high performance synthesiser operates over the X-band satcom range of 6.410-7.545GHz and can be customised to meet step size requirements from 1kHz down to 1Hz. It features outstanding spectral purity and low phase noise of -77dBc at 100Hz offsets and -125dBc at 1MHz offsets.

The X band synthesiser is ideal for harsh-environment defence applications where a combination of low noise, wide bandwidth, and very small step size are essential.

The base model is based on Endwave's proprietary YIG oscillators.

Applications include: field portable X-band satcom terminals, control links for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and triband convertors.

Other S-, C-, Ku-, Ka- and triband synthesisers are also available - in both YIG and VCO-based designs.
