Wireless LAN adapter has industrial specifications

connectBlue has extended its product portfolio with a WLAN serial port adapter, the OWSPA311gi/x. The compact module is ideal for portable industrial devices and is designed for straightforward wireless upgrade. It combines, ease of use with state-of-the-art low-power features.

'The module is ideal to implement in all kinds of professional devices in demanding environments, ranging from medical, diagnostic equipment, automation devices to point of sales terminals', said Rolf Nilsson, President of connectBlue.

'In addition, the module is radio typed approved and EMC certified, which means short time to market'.

The module is a complete communication unit featuring IEEE802.11b/g wireless LAN and a high performing TCP/IP stack.

It enables the host to stream data over TCP or UDP without the need of an external driver or a TCP/IP stack.

It is also available with different host connector alternatives with either internal antenna or external antenna connectors.

Using a PC toolkit or the powerful AT-commands easily performs the configuration of the module.

The WLAN serial port adapter completes the range of wireless LAN modules and services from connectBlue, which are based on a solution from NXP Semiconductor with extremely low power consumption and an extended temperature range.

The wireless LAN modules are compatible with the Bluetooth modules from connectBlue, which means a high degree of flexibility where customers can design their products to fit either Bluetooth or WLAN modules.
