GPS receiver shipments top 5 million

u-blox America has delivered its 5 millionth GPS receiver to Mobile Crossing, an innovative manufacturer of rugged handheld GPS computers and personal navigation devices (PND). Nikolaos Papadopoulos, President of u-blox America, delivered the GPS receiver personally to Raymond Hou, CEO of Mobile Crossing, during a special ceremony held at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Also present during the ceremonial delivery was Hansjorg Sage representing 3i Germany, a significant investor in u-blox.

Rugged handheld devices like the Mobile Crossing WPX are built to higher standards of quality, durability and performance.

Mobile Crossing chose u-blox's latest GPS receivers for the WPX thanks to their combination of low-power consumption, high accuracy and exceptional indoor performance.

All WPX rugged computers come standard with SuperSense, the ultra-high-sensitivity GPS technology from u-blox.

The WPX is available immediately to system integrators and software developers as a GPS integrated platform.

Mobile Crossing also plans to release a consumer navigation system based on the WPX hardware in the coming months.
