Welcome to Wireless Communications

Deal takes distribution network past 50 countries

Multinational M2M specialist Telit Communications has concluded a distribution contract with Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente. Rutronik will market Telit's GSM/GPRS and CDMA modules for M2M communication in Europe. This collaboration further strengthens Telit's global distribution network which now covers more than 50 countries.

The collaboration with the leading sales expert for electronic devices comprises most European countries.

With the continuing expansion of its distribution platform, Telit is opening up a wider circle of potential customers: 'The co-operation with Rutronik is a further milestone on our way to implementing our global market strategy'.

'Rutronik, with its customers and target groups, is an ideal complement to our present distributors', explains Felix Marchal, Vice President Global Sales, Telit Wireless Solutions.

The co-operation with Rutronik will further strengthen Telit's high profile on the European M2M market.

Various factors influenced the decision in favour of Rutronik.

One reason is the company's pan-European operating range.

In addition, Rutronik possesses a Wireless Competence Centre in Stockholm, Sweden, which bundles Rutronik's entire knowhow in the field of wireless applications.

This includes technical support, the development of applications and the project process of purchase and logistics.

The wireless expert team consists of marketing and sales specialists as well as field engineers.

'The Competence Centre is very market-orientated'.

'This aligns with Telit's strategy of offering market-orientated, flexible products', says Dominikus Hierl, President Telit Wireless Solutions.

The positive potential of Rutronik is further underlined by its efficient Europe-wide logistics as well as a European distribution channel with an integrative ERP system.

'Rutronik's extensive experience with the wireless modules of one of our former competitors will definitely benefit our strategy and help achieve our ambitious goals', states Hierl.

In addition to the wireless GSM/GPRS modules, Rutronik offers a wide variety of complementary technologies, including for example RFID, ISM, Bluetooth, WLAN, ZigBee and GPS.

'Customers do often deploy several technologies at the same time'.

'This will have a positive impact on the distribution of our modules', states Mads Kring, Rutronik Key Account Manager and Regional Sales Director Nordics, Baltics and Benelux for Telit Wireless Solutions.

Rutronik will also benefit from the co-operation with Telit.

'At present, Telit is the number three on the European M2M market'.

'We are really looking forward to supporting Telit's sales activities in Europe and to assisting the company on its way to the top of the global M2M market', summarises Markus Krieg, Marketing Director Semiconductor at Rutronik.

'The co-operation enforces our perspectives in the auspicious M2M sector and is consequently central to our strategic ambitions', adds Lars Mistander, Manager of the Rutronik Wireless Competence Centre in Stockholm.
