Bluetooth modules add range to marketingBluetooth technology from Ezurio and 2Ci Events sends clips and competitions to mobile phones using a technique called proximity marketing.Film goers haven't just been watching Borat on the big screen - they've been watching clips on their mobiles as well. That's all thanks to innovative new Bluetooth technology from Ezurio and 2Ci Events that sends clips and competitions to mobile phones using a technique called proximity marketing. It's set to be the next big thing coming to your phone, and UK companies are pioneering its use. Proximity is the new buzzword in marketing and is providing the ability to send targeted marketing messages to people within a confined area. That's not limited to Cinemas, as there's already interest from other groups such as supermarket chains. 2Ci Events specialises in high end solutions for some of the most demanding concerts and music venues across the UK and Europe ranging from LED screens and lighting through to DVD filming and content creation. 2Ci Events recognised a true need for pushing multimedia content from live shows directly to the audiences mobile phones in real time and has developed a software package capable of using Bluetooth as the transport mechanism. 2Ci Events approached Ezurio for its specialist knowledge with Bluetooth to help create a product that could broadcast multimedia content to the widest range of people or the greatest distance while maintaining high speed downloads. 'We approached Ezurio after trying several consumer Bluetooth products, none of which gave us the range and performance required', said Habs Akram, Managing Director of 2Ci. 'We worked very closely with the Ezurio Field Application Engineers in refining our application using Ezurio Bluetooth, resulting in a product that exceeded even our expectation'. 'We struggled to find a company which could deliver both the support and the technology required to meet both our and our customer's requirements'. 'Ezurio met the challenge and has worked closely with us to deliver a fantastic solution', stated Habs Akram, Managing Director of 2Ci. 'We have developed a true working partnership with Ezurio and are looking forward to extending our relationship and our new products with Ezurio'. 'Pushing adverts to mobile devices has always been one of the Holy Grails of Bluetooth applications', said Nick Hunn, CTO of Ezurio. 'The solution that 2Ci has developed has moved this from a difficult user experience to something that becomes really persuasive'. 'I expect to see it initiate a wide range of innovation around proximity marketing'. For those lucky enough to be going to the New Years Eve party at the NEC in Birmingham, be sure to switch on the Bluetooth in your mobile phone. You will see first hand how this innovative product performs. |
